3 out of 5 stars Not loving these as much as I thought..   December 2, 2008

I have used these for a few months..they are so heavy and wrinkle so much out of dryer, even with proper cycles, softners etc.Making the bed seems like so much work, I hate to use them. Although they fit around mattress well, I don't like the casing the elastic is in. Have never seen that before and wonder what will happen if that one string breaks. I would not buy these again.

4 out of 5 stars Good, but not great.   November 19, 2008

These sheets are good, but a bit disapointing in some respects. They come out of the dryer very wrinkled. The bottom sheet fits tight enough that it isn't a concern, but the top remains too wrinkled for my taste. I don't mind ironing the pillowcases, but that is as much ironing as I care to do. These sheets are much heavier than I have had before, but not uncomfortable. I don't know if I would buy them again, just for the problem with the wrinkles. I think if they were hung on a line to dry, they would be fine. How many of us have that great old time tool? Not me!

5 out of 5 stars Good sheets   November 19, 2008

These sheets are heavy and seem to be of very good quality. I have normally purchased sheets based mostly on looks and price. Sounds silly but I think I actually sleep better with these sheets. Kind of makes me feel more snuggly at night (sounds lame for a guy to say that but I couldn't think of any other way to put it).

1 out of 5 stars Lesson Learned: Quality of the Cotton matters more than the Thread Count   November 10, 2008

Well this product is a case in point on why the quality of the cotton matters more than the threadcount. To me this product seems more like a marketing gimmick than a genuine luxury design. If you took away the 1,000 figure and did a simple hands on test you would rank these sheets near the bottom.

While these sheets are thick and I have every reason to believe they are 1,000 thread count they are made in china and were made using commoditized, low grade short-staple cotton. The fabric, after repeated washings, is rough and would probably remind the user more of a drape or low quality, screen printed comforter than a high end sheet. It is not particularly comfortable to rest your face on, I have 200 thread count sheets which are much softer, supple and inviting.

These were not worth the eighty dollar price tag - I would recommend looking for Sea Island Cotton or Egyptian cotton in the 250 threat count arena - it will feel so much better.

*** Warning: Amazon Editor's are posting positive reviews of these products. I believe editorial views should be kept in the editorial section and not intermixed with customer reviews... M. Bohlmann "KitchenMaus" (Seattle, WA USA) in particular has reviewed 4 Pike St./Pinzon products - that is a conflict of interest. There are quite a few Seattle, WA reviews as well which makes me think some of these other people were also Amazon employees looking to jumpstart 5 Star reviews to bump up the popularity of the Amazon.com sponsored product (ie. Pike St. = Amazon)

5 out of 5 stars Heavy, but luxury feel.   October 30, 2008
A picky buyer (NY)
The sheets are quite heavy. I knew this from prior reviews. My wife & I like the feel of these sheets. Has gotten softer after several laundry cycles. Would order again.
