5 out of 5 stars Super comfy!   December 20, 2008

These pillows are great. I sleep with 2 of these even though I really only need one. I use the other one and kind of make a little pillow fort around me. It is wonderful. These where so comfy I actually upgraded and got a down pillow topper and a down comforter too. Since upgrading my sleeping area I have slept so good, better than I have in a long time. I highly recommend these pillows.

5 out of 5 stars Close to the BEST down pillow for a side sleeper!   November 20, 2008

Ever since I encountered THE perfect down pillow in a bed & breakfast we stayed in, I've been on the hunt for that pillow! It was sumptuous down, and your head sank slowly into it, but it had some "spring" and didn't souffle out like all the sad down replacements I've bought over the years.

This pillow is as close as I've come to the dream B&B pillow. You can punch it and fluff it up, and surprise! No pillow pancake! As much as I love down pillows, and with all the money I've spent on them, it never fails that eventually the pillow just loses its oomph. Not this baby.

I purposely waited for several weeks to comment on it, just to see nightly sleeping would flatten it. It remains as properly lofty, but dreamily sinkable, as the best down pillow in that old B&B.

I'd especially recommend this to a side sleeper. I read in bed, and the pillow gave me great back support, but when I turned out the lights, it morphed nicely into a comfortable, soft, yet supportive side sleeper pillow.

I liked it so much I bought a second pillow! The price is definitely right.

Just dreamy! This may not be that long-ago perfect pillow I remember, but honestly, it's as close as I've come, and that's saying a lot.

3 out of 5 stars Too hard for comfort   October 26, 2008

The pillow looks beautiful with a fancy cover and zipper. My question is whether it is hypoallergenic or not. I couldn't find that in the information that came with the pillow. The contents sound great with so much goose down. However, it doesn't feel like a down pillow for a number of reasons. First it doesn't have much flexibility and it doesn't have that cushiony touch that I expect from a down pillow and I have had many down pillows in the past. It's supposed to be firm but it's too firm for down.

It is relatively light, and it can be washed which are good features. I don't know how long it will last if I wash it. I expect it to last a long time and that would be good for guests. Sometimes I will use it for a back pillow to prop myself up in bed, but it will not be my primary pillow. Down should be luxurious and I don't think this pillow qualifies. It seems more synthetic than down, and that's disappointing.

5 out of 5 stars Plush but supportive--great for pillow folders who like extra neck support   October 24, 2008

This is a marvelous pillow all around. It's very cushy and plush, but still has a core of support, unlike typical down pillows. I'm a back and side sleeper and I loved this pillow for both. It has great breathability & doesn't mush down to nothing. On my back, I fold up the bottom third and tucked it under my neck for nice neck support & softness all around my head. It held the position well & I didn't have to keep reworking it. On my side, I fold a third under longways and it's perfect. I'm a habitual pillow-folder (I like extra support under my neck), so a pillow that folds & keeps its shape/support in position is a real treat. It's firm enough to be supportive behind your back when you're reading in bed, etc. It seems plush enough for stomach sleepers (no folding). The cover is lovely, with a nice baffle that gives the pillow room to shift. It's a very cooling, high-count cotton that makes it tempting to leave off the pillow case altogether. This one will definitely be staying on *my* side of the bed.

The most I am willing to spend on a single pillow is about $30 and this one is in that price range. I have a couple of cheaper (as in bottom-line) Pinzon pillows with down feathers and they are usable, but this pillow is a lot more comfortable. I am a side sleeper and this was enough support for my neck without pushing to far upwards or sinking down too far. I would buy again.
