1 out of 5 stars I give up!   August 29, 2010

I have had electric blankets since I was a little kid (going on 40 years of Electric blanket use). They use to last 5-10 years. I remember having ones that I'd have year after year! In the last 10 years or so the time they last has gotten less and less. I've always bought Sunbeam blankets, and now, I am in search of a new brand! In the last 5 years I have bought a new blanket EVERY year! It wasn't so bad when I could find them on the clearance rack for $12. But, this last 2 years, that hasn't been the case. The cheapest one I can find is around $44. A blanket needs to last longer than ONE year for that amount of money! Not to mention the landfill waste all these blankets are adding to the environment!!!
This blanket didn't even make it a day! It wouldn't work at all. I tried everything I could think of. The only thing that seemed to work was covering the whole bed with a down blanket to "assist" the Sunbeam blanket in heating up! Only without the assistance, it simply did not warm all over... Near the plug it warm up, and that is about it.
EDIT: I wanted to add that I returned this in all the original packaging to Amazon 3 days after purchase since trying to get it to work wasn't happening. I got my refund! I think if everyone started to return these blankets if they conk out in the first month a message might get through to the Sunbeam Company. I'm off to purchase a Sealy Diamond Electric Blanket to try!

2 out of 5 stars Marginal quality   August 28, 2010
Old Former Adventurer (Stow, Ohio USA)
The blanket looked great just out of the package. Seemed to work fine for a time. Then, it wouldn't warm up to the same settings--I had to gradually increase the settings to get the previous level of warmth. Worst of all, though, the fabric developed severe pilling. In a short period of time it looked like something owned by a homeless person (no offense to the homeless). I haven't owned it that long as yet. I just hope it doesn't further malfunction and catch on fire or electrocute me.

1 out of 5 stars only lasted for four months!   August 6, 2010

The sunbeam electric blanket was great...in the beginning. It stopped heating up after only four months. I can't believe this. I'm so disappointed, and I highly DON'T recommend this brand to anyone.

1 out of 5 stars Nice,for one month...   July 19, 2010

Unfortunatelly after works properly for one month,
now stop warm.
I made as the instructions say in case the light in the control blink trying to reset the system several times, but nothing happens.

5 out of 5 stars excellent for the price   July 16, 2010

This is wonderful for the price. Only needed a twin, so my dogs wouldn't lie on a larger size. Don't care about the fabric quality, if you want that pay a higher price, this does the job in keeping me warm.
