2 out of 5 stars Sunbeam Herringbone electric blanket   February 25, 2010

The Sunbeam Full Herringbone electric blanket arrived promptly. I liked the blanket itself, but the control was defective. It turned on too easily. The slightest pressure would turn it on--like if it was bumped while making up the bed. The knob that adjusted the temperature had the opposite problem. It took two hands to change the temperature setting--one to hold the control and one to twist the knob.

The control itself is too light. When placed on a bedside table, the weight of the electric wires would pull it off. There were no hooks for attaching it to a bed rail either.

When I called the seller, I was advised to contact Sunbeam which I did. Sunbeam instructed me to send the blanket to them. I did, but have not had a response from Sunbeam yet.

I LOVE it! Doesn't take long to heat up and gets hot on the lowest setting.

3 out of 5 stars mediocre   February 3, 2010

Arrived in a very timely manner and was originally pleased with look. However, the dimensions are smaller than stated and it does not heat up evenly or enough. Other electric blankets I have had are nice and toasty on the "high" setting. This one is merely warm. I live in a warm, southern state, so don't need tons of heat, but have actually had this on "high" and been chilly.

4 out of 5 stars Sunbeam electiric blanket   January 24, 2010

I do like the top fabric on this blanket as opposed to the typical fuzzy material that balls up over time.
This is a thin covering material however as I read in another review but it doesn't bother me or my husband. Warms the bed before we get in and has auto shut off after 10 hrs for people who forget to turn it off when they get up in the morning.

I had enough faith in Sunbeam to buy 3 of these..we had this brand when I was young. I don't like how ALL electric blankets wires are felt through the material. This blanket had an attractive weave on one side and a soft side. The only compplaint..is the dials are hard for ME to turn. I have a hard time with my hands and can't grasp the dial to turn. It's just the way the dial was made, it has smooth large notches but no nubes or ridges..I can probably put something on it so I can turn the dials but as it is, these were for the young people in the house and they are happy with them.
