Pretty good deal July 7, 2010 Meg (PA) This was truly a special treat. I really love the feel of them. They seem to hold up alright in the wash so far. The price was really affordable for Egyptian cottons and high thread count. They are a little stiffer than I like.
Pinzon 500: Very good but . . . June 22, 2010 D. Parks (Bloomington, IN USA) After several washings, these sheets are standing up well. They do not feel like silk---they are somewhat heavy---but they are relatively soft. Comfortable. My only problem with them, as well as with most sheets I purchase now, is that they come out quite wrinkled and require ironing if one prefers a non-wrinkled appearance. Otherwise, I do like the color and the sheets seem relatively sturdy. I'll probably buy another pair in the future unless I find something better at the same price.
feels like cardboard April 18, 2010 M. Barton Would never buy these pillowcases again. They felt like cardboard. Even after washing, I couldn't sleep on them. Had to throw them out.
great look, one sided smoothness January 16, 2010 Nastia (Blacksburg, VA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The sheets look really nice, they have this nice sheen and are thick so they drape well, only one side of the sheet is smooth. I'm assuming they'll get softer with wear and washing, right now they are kinda stiff, the pillow cases are nice. Also big plus that the sheets did not smell bad on arrival, they are made in portugal.
nice but stiff, not silky October 30, 2009 M. Al-muftah I assumed that the pillow cases would be silky and soft to sleep on because of the 500 thread count, but they were very stiff as if heavely starched, they remained stiff even after I washed them. They have a nice reflection to the fabric (gold sateen), but not what I expected interms of softness. One other thing i did not like about these pillows is that they didn't have the internal fabric flap that is supposed to hold the pillow (filling) in, the pillow is allways visible from the open side of the case.
