5 out of 5 stars Very soft and warm! Yet comfortable in the summer as well!   August 30, 2010
Melanie D. Scheuerle
I bought this blanket in the Plum rose color. It is a soft dusty rose color with a touch of plum to my eye. It is very beautiful and when washed it is very soft. I have had it on my bed for 2 months now over the summer and it is holding up well. We keep the house cold for health reasons and it is very warm yet is breathes. My husband who doesn't like the feel of velvet loves this particular velour. It has a nice feel to it and it is just the right weight for a year round blanket. I highly recommend this blanket!

I just washed my new Martex-vellum blanket. EVERY BIT of the blanket was at the bottom of my washing machine, with the exception of where the bidding was. I've never had this happen before with my other blankets. I can't find a site where I can complain to the company because like everything else, it's made in China. I wonder if this would have happend if it were made in the USA. I'm just greatful that it was a twin instead of a larger one-it took me 2-3 hrs. so I'm glad it was only a twin. I don't think that I'll buy another one, too bad because I really liked them

1 out of 5 stars Don't ever buy this blanket   June 1, 2010

I love the vellux blankets and was looking for a dark blue to replace one we have had for four years. When I took this blanket out of the package, there was a strong smell, and since it would be close to my head and nose, I washed it in warm water as it said. The blanket disintegrated like a buffalo molts all in my washing machine, and the smell was worse. There were pieces of blanket lining my machine. I left to do errands and my husband put it in the dryer so we could send it back, and the head ache and the dizziness I immediately experienced was incredibly intense. I thought I was ill, until I went outside, and then realized that whatever was causing my 'illness' was in our studio. The blanket continued to disintegrate in our dryer into blue fuzz. So now both of our machines were compromised....We had to vaccuum out with a shop vac.

DO NOT BUY THIS BLANKET!!!! I have no idea what toxic material is in it, but you do not want this in your home!

3 out of 5 stars Decent blanket   April 1, 2010

Received this item a little over two weeks ago. This item is made of decent material, but it does have a slight foam feel that other people have described. It does not do very much to keep you warm in my opinion, so it is definitely something to be used as a secondary blanket. Although, on hot nights you will appreciate that it is very breathable and wont leave you sweating. A little less than what I expected for a thirty dollar blanket, but if you can get it at a lower price then it is a pretty decent bargain. I would probably suggest shopping around for a more comfortable blanket.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointment......defected blanket received twice and returned.   March 27, 2010

I ordered this blanket because we have been looking for a new one like the one we had. We really enjoy the light weight and soft feel. Unfortunately both the original and the replacement blankets we received were defective with glue like spots on them.We were very disappointed that we did not end up with a new blanket.
