Amazon.com Review You'll get great results with this Black & Decker heavy-duty Edge Hog landscape edger, one of the easiest-to-use pieces of equipment we've come across. You'll be thrilled with how quickly you can get to work, as assembly takes only a few minutes. This is an electric model, so you'll need an extension cord and an electric outlet handy, but you won't have to deal with gas or oil. And it's so quiet you can edge at any time of day--even early Saturday mornings--without worrying about waking up the neighbors. We found the Edge Hog has plenty of power in its 2-1/4-horsepower motor for both edging and trenching, and it's easy to switch from one to the other by simply raising or lowering the edge guide. The edger weighs only 12 pounds, which allows for easy transportation and great maneuverability around curved paths, but makes it more difficult to maintain a straight line when you're tackling a lawn that hasn't been edged in a while. If you're digging out quite a bit of dirt along with the edge you're creating, it takes some effort to keep the unit stable. Undoing a screw toward the front of the edger and raising or lowering its leading wheel easily adjusts the depth of the edge groove you're making along with your edge. The unit can also be adjusted to fit the height of the user more comfortably by changing the angle on the guide handle. The blade requires only a pull of the trigger to start instantly and, unlike many gas models, stops as soon as the trigger is released---an important safety feature.
Amazon.com Product Description Offering 150 in./lbs. of torque and 4,700 RPM of power, this 2-1/4 HP landscape edger from Black & Decker can help transform your yard and add real curb appeal to your home's exterior. Lightweight yet extremely efficient, the LE750 performs multiple tasks, including edging along hard surfaces like driveways and sidewalks; trenching around garden beds, trees, and borders; and helping to install both outdoor lighting and invisible dog fences. Its 11 Amp motor can handle even stubborn overgrown areas, and three-position blade depth adjustment ensures optimum control as you work. To guard against unintended unplugging while you're working, there's a built-in cord retention system. The LE750 conveniently starts with a simple pull of the trigger and for added peace of mind, it also instantly stops when that same trigger is released.

I'm normally a gas powered guy, but.... August 30, 2010 John W. Steber (Indianapolis, IN) I'm not the type of person to typically leave reviews. But wanted to leave one for this. This product was great. We moved into our house a little over a year ago and I knew we were going ot need an edger at one point in time. I was using my gas powered string trimmer as on edger until we purchased this last week. As I was growing up, my dad lived by gas powered equiptment, so I was planning to buy a gas powered edger at some point in time, but I didn't want to fork over the $200 miniumn needed. I thought, for $90, I would give this a shot. (By they way, ordered it via prime on Friday and chose Saturday delivery for only $4. If you're not a prime memember you should seriosuly consider it!)
Anyways... Took this thing out of the box, assembled the shaft, got out the extension cord and fired it up (I mean, really, how hard is it to squeeze a trigger??). I have a lawn that was very neglected for years. I have slowly been working on rebuiling it, but there is still a lot of weed and crabgrass growth.... especially by the driveway/sidewalk. This thing plowed through it with no problems. I knew it could be tough, so I set it to a shallower cut depth then went over it a second time to get the deep cut. Since this was my first 'true edge', I did it twice, but will only have to do it once from here on out.
This also worked great around our landscaping in the back yard. It gives a nice separation between the yard and our landscaping border bricks.
Highly recommend this product. Hope the reliability is good. Will re-post if I have any issues in that department.
Good buy August 22, 2010 David Villa (Texas) I've only used it a couple of times since purchase but i love it! It makes edging a heck of a lot easier than trying to use a scrawny weedeater, especially with the crabgrass here in the Coastal Bend. I still have to give it a once over with the weedeater to tidy it up, but much easier and I use the weedeater the next week just to keep it trim before the next edging.
edger broke down after one useage. had to return it. this is the second Black&Decker item that I have bought in recent times th August 22, 2010 EDWARD CORLEY (WINDSOR CA.) This item broke down after one useage. I purchased a Black & Decker Electric Mower about three years ago and it never worked properly, and had to be returned. Black & Decker is not the quality it once was
Powerful Edger August 19, 2010 lonestar I purchased this edger as a replacement for an electric edger that gave out. This is a very powerful edger that does the job quickly. It works very well edging by a flat surface (driveway, sidewalk, etc) but is slightly difficult to use on a curb and rounding corners. I considered various string trimmers with edging capability but their ratings did not convince me they would do the job as well as this product.
Not a Keeper... August 16, 2010 Michael J. Horoda The product description and features sound good, but it is not an especially good value.
1. There is not sufficient weight in the base to keep the product from falling over from the weight of the handle.
2. The wheels are hollow molded so they are easier to break and hence designed to fail.
3. The height adjustor/edge guide is in very close proximity to the blade and not especially secure. If this ever loosened more it would be struck by the blade with might damage the motor.
4. The motor is a sealed unit and there is no way to lubricated the motor bearings.
5. The advertisement of use for relief cutting aroung base of trees is not exactly a genuine feature. Try cutting a circle in a piece of wood with a hand-held circular saw and you will understand what I mean.
I would not buy again. Looks like was designed for use for a season or two tops.
